The Audiobook Guy is run by Kevin Kemp. This policy covers theaudiobookguy.co.uk and our free tools at tools.theaudiobookguy.co.uk.

In short: we count visits so we know what's useful, we never sell your data, and your audio and project files stay yours.

The website and Wix Analytics

 

Our main website is built on Wix. Wix Analytics shows us how the site is used, such as which pages are visited, how long people stay, roughly where visitors are in the world, and what device and browser they use. We see these figures as totals, not as a record of you personally.

To do this, Wix uses cookies. Some are essential for the site to work, such as keeping you signed in as a member. Others are for analytics. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some parts of the site may not work properly without them.

If you sign up as a member, buy a course, or contact us through a form, we receive the details you give us, such as your name and email address. We only use these to provide what you asked for and to reply to you. Payments are handled by Wix and its payment providers, and we never see your full card details.

The tools site and Cloudflare Web Analytics

 

Our tools site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits to each tool. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you or follow you to other sites.

​

It tells us which tools are opened, the site that sent you to us, your country, your device and browser, and how fast pages load. Cloudflare briefly processes your IP address to count the visit but doesn't store it in our reports. It also doesn't record anything after the ? in a web address, so details like project links stay out of it.

Your recordings, files and Google sign-in

 

Our tools run in your browser. Audio you record or upload is processed on your own device and is never sent to us.

Some tools let you sign in with Google to save recordings to your Google Drive or work on your prep sheet in Google Sheets. When you do, your files travel directly between your browser and Google. We don't keep copies, and we only ask for the access each tool needs to open and save the files you choose.

Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can remove a tool's access at any time from your Google Account permissions.

​

The tools also save some settings in your browser, such as your last project or chosen options, so they're ready next time. This stays on your device, and clearing your browser data removes it. The Research Tool looks words up on Wiktionary directly from your browser.

When you click one of our Amazon links, Amazon may set a cookie so it knows the sale came from us. It costs you nothing extra. Once you're on Amazon, their Privacy Notice applies, and we never see who bought what.

You can ask to see the personal details we hold about you, correct them, or have them deleted. Just get in touch and we'll sort it.
